Take your recovery to the next level...
"Though they knew they must help other alcoholics if they would remain sober, that motive became secondary. It was transcended by the happiness they found in giving themselves for others." -pg. 159 from A Vision For You out of the Big Book
Recovery, unity, and service constitute the three legacies of our program. Service is a very important and sometimes underestimated part of the program. Once you get involved in service, you begin to understand it's importance. Your sobriety can grow and be enriched by giving back to the program, especially when you venture beyond the group level. If you are a GSR, alternate GSR, or you just have interest in learning what it's all about, come to the Area 48 HMB Orientation Day!
On Saturday, January 13th our area is hosting a special orientation event from 9am-3pm in Albany. The day will begin with a fellowship breakfast from 9-10am. Afterward, there will be some informational meetings about what is involved in serving as a GSR, DCM, etc. Then, there will be an HMB Area Meeting beginning around 1pm. If you are interested in the event but need help getting there, just send us a message from our contact page and we will try to help you get connected!
